Seg\u00fan inform\u00f3 el capit\u00e1n Tim Hawkins, portavoz del Comando Central, la aeronave no tripulada, identificada como un Shahed-139, se aproxim\u00f3 de manera \u201cagresiva\u201d a la flota\u00a0<strong>estadounidense<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El mando militar asegur\u00f3 que el derribo se realiz\u00f3 en \u201cdefensa propia\u201d para proteger al personal a bordo, luego de que el dron continuara su trayectoria hacia el portaaviones a pesar de las medidas de desescalada intentadas por las fuerzas de EE. UU..
